From FranL: 15mm Modern Russian Infantry & Armour (156 points)

Francis reports in with a passel of modern Russians in 15mm.

From Fran:
We have the guts of a modern motorised rifle platoon here plus some support weapons including mortars, HMGs and grenade launchers.

I made a bit of a bollox of this as I foolishly took certain helmet types as part of the Russian infantry and they turned out to belong to a different part of the Russian defence forces and 40+ Russian figures had to be done again but the others will still be used but are not shown here due then being done pre-challenge. The figures are from Eureka Miniatures.

Below is some Russian armour for the period including 4 T-80s on the back row, 3 T-72s, a Tunguska AA system, 4 BTR-80s and a BMP-1 and all based again, the T-80s, BMP-1 and Tunguska are from QRF and the rest are plastic from Zvedza.

Great work Fran! Those Eureka models are very nice indeed. We never seem to see this stuff featured at Posties - do you put on games at your place? I think I've only seen one irreverent AAR describing one of your Zombie games posted on Ray's blog...

This fine force of Russians will give Fran 156 points.

From Millsy: Dystopian Wars British Fleet (42 points)

Millsy changes gear for a bit:
The astute amongst you will have noticed that my second submission isn't wights, mummies, skeletons, zombies or any other form of undead. Nor is it Oldhammer for that matter.
The truth is I couldn't look another skeletal grin in the face without doing something different first, so when I got the Dystopian Wars rule book for Christmas the painting urge became near overpowering.
Whatever plans I had were immediately blown from the water by a broadside of Spartan Games resin goodness. Why some people think having large volumes of unpainted models about he place just in case you suddenly want to paint them constitutes a bad idea is beyond me. Anyway, enough rambling.

With the exception of two small bomber aircraft this is the complete starter flotilla for the Kingdom of Britannia - one battleship, three cruisers, nine frigates and ten stands of aircraft. Despite my abiding affection for the dazzle pattern (it's all good right Curt???) I decided for something a bit different and went with a royal blue and bronze theme with white highlights. Cripes, I'm starting to sound like an interior designer....

I've still got another batch to be completed some time soon, mostly aircraft and a dreadnought. Before that though I should be able to face the lipless grinning hordes once more.
Dystopian Wars is such a great game and Millsy you've done a brilliant job with this British force. I think the 'razzle dazzle' thing has been done quite a bit so I really like the look of these. Now you just need to start pimping this core group with a carrier and a silly-big-ass flyer.

This steampunk fleet will give Millsy 42 points. Great work!

From KentG: 28mm Napoleonic French Hussars and WWII Japanese Infantry (137 points)

Kent builds on his first place points-lead with this magnificent unit of French hussars with three Japanese infantry added for tropical seasoning.

From Kent:
This entry is 12 Front Rank Hussars that I painted mainly on Christmas day. Next figures will be on foot instead of horseback, but I do have a few more cavalry hidden away ready to undercoat.

Also we have 3 28mm Bolt action Japanese figures two snipers and a free figure I got with a book, I really enjoy painting these figures - great sculpts.

Again, my mind boggles at the speed and quality of your work Kent - fabulous stuff.

This selection of miniatures will give Kent 137 points, which includes a touch more for the hussars' very nice regimental flag. Great work Kent!

From TimB: 28mm Samurai, Ronin & Ashigaru (60 points)

Tim continues to get ready for his upcoming Samurai/Ronin event with these excellent unarmoured Japanese warriors.

From Tim:
12x 28mm Samurai, Ronin and Ashigaru.
Yet another assortment of Feudal Japanese. Again these are mostly unarmoured Ronin and Samurai from Black Hat Miniatures, but there's also a few Armoured Ashigaru from Old Glory.
Two unarmoured Samurai or Ronin with Yari from Black Hat Miniatures.
Three unarmoured Samurai or Ronin with Naginata from Black Hat Miniatures.
Two unarmoured Samurai or Ronin with Yumi from Black Hat Miniatures.
Two unarmoured Samurai or Ronin with Katana from Black Hat Miniatures.

Three Ashigaru with Yari from Old Glory.

Again, great work with these figures Tim.  I particularly like the fellow with the yellow dotted kimono - he looks a bit like an Eeyore-type character to me,  'Oh dear, the sky is dark with arrows... I really hate it when it rains arrows... <long sigh>'

This dozen Japanese warriors will give Tim 60 points, bringing him within striking distance of the leading pack in the point roster. Well done Mr. B!
